The ClimatsTo give a clearer picture of where each of its cuvées come from, the MORGON appellation area has been divides up into 6 «climat» or named vineyard since 1985. Each of these forms a homogenous entity in both terrain and aspect.Morgon Les Charmes :Southeast facing, at between 300 and 450 m above sea level on granitic arena soil, the wine is round and bursting with aromas and flavours.Morgon Corcelette :At the north-western end of the appellation area, staggered from 300 to 400 m above sea level on soil that is light granite on the surface. The wine combines red fruit and a purple-blue robe.Morgon Côte du Py :On the hill called Côte de Py, which peaks at 350 m above sea level. The eruptive origin and basalt rock in the subsoil give this wine cherry aromas and flavours with spicy notes. This full-bodied wine boasts great ageing potential.Morgon Douby :This climats backs on to Fleurie. A well-built, harmonious wine that is rich in fruit.Morgon Grand Cras :The vines grow at an average altitude of 260 m above sea level, on the south-southeast buttresses of Côte de Py. This schit terroir gives full-bodied wine with kirsch notes.Morgon Les Micouds :This is the smallest of the climatsin si size. Facing the rising sun and quite early ripening, the grapes give an alliance of finesse and really mellow tannins.
